Size G7 Hook


Chain 36
Row 1:
dc in 4th ch from hook and next 3 chs,
3 dc in next ch,
dc in next 5 chs,
3 dc in next ch,
dc in next 10 chs,
3 dc in next ch,
dc in next 5 chs,
3 dc in next ch,
dc in last 5 chs.
ch 2, turn.

rows 2-5: dc in each dc across putting 3dc in center dc of 3dc group below. Ch 2, turn.
row 6: dc across to center of first 3dc group, ch 6, skip across to next 3dc, dc in center st and each st across to center st of 3rd dc group, ch6, skip to last 3dc put dc in center of 3dc group and across to end. ch 2, turn. *Armhole construction tutorial*


row 7: dc in each dc and chain across. ch 2, turn.

Ch2 counts as first DC. Each row will begin and end with 2DC.
Shell stitch: (2DC, ch 1, 2DC) in same stitch


Row 8: DC in next stitch, *Skip one stitch and work Shell in next, Skip one stitch and work 1DC
in next stitch, repeat from * and work across to last 4 stitches: Skip 2 stitches and work 1DC in last 2 stitches. (picture of row 8 below)

Rows 9 & 10: turn, ch 2, DC in next DC, Put a shell in the ch1 space of the previous shell and 1DC in the DC between each shell across. Put 1dc in each of the last 2DC of the row.


Rows 8, 9 & 10


You will now be putting 2DC in the DC between the Shells, not the first 2 or last 2 of the row.
Row 11: turn, ch2, DC in next DC. Put a Shell in the previous Shell, Put 2DC in the next DC.
work across to last 2DC, DC in each.


Rows 12 & 13: Turn, ch2, DC in next DC. *Shell in previous Shell, 1DC in each of the next 2DC's.
Work across, you will now have 2DC's between each Shell. Put 1DC in each of the last 2DC's.




You will now be increasing to 3DC's between each shell.

Row 14: Turn, Ch2, DC in next DC. *Shell in previous Shell, (1DC in next DC, 2DC in second DC)*. Repeat *to * across to last 2DC, work 1DC in each of last 2DC.


Rows 15-17: Turn, Ch2, DC in next DC. *Shell in previous shell, Put 1DC in each of the next 3DC's. Repeat from * across to last 2DC, work 1DC in each of last 2DC.
At end of row 17 Ch 1.






At end of row 17, ch 1, work 2 sc in each end stitch up front side of sweater placing buttonholes where you like. (buttonhole- sc, ch 3, sc in next st)
Work 3 sc in last stitch, sc around neckline, put 3 sc in last st of neck, work 2 sc in each end stitch down side of sweater, work 3 sc in last stitch and sc across bottom of sweater, put 2 sc in last st and join to first sc. finish off.
Sleeves: join yarn to center stitch at bottom on armhole, DC around. Work 8 rows total for sleeves.Row 9, sc around sleeve.
